Akimie Charles Ogilvie, born in 1994, passed away in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, creativity, and an unshakable sense of community. He was the beloved son of the late Richard Ogilvie and Denyse Ogilvie, and a cherished brother to Richardine, Nixe, Kimanii, and Isaac Ogilvie.

Born in the Caribbean, Akimie was a proud citizen of Grenada. His journey to the United States began in 2005, following the devastation of Hurricane Ivan on September 7, 2004. As a middle school international boarding student, he quickly adapted to his new environment, displaying remarkable resilience and drive. He attended Principia Upper School in St. Louis, MO, and later Principia College in Elsah, IL. At Principia College, he played soccer and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies with a minor in Entrepreneurship. His time at Camp Owatonnain Minnesota as a Counselor in Training (CIT) further demonstrated his leadership and passion for mentorship.

Akimie’s life was marked by an adventurous spirit that took him to many parts of the United States, including Maine, Colorado, Washington State, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Florida. In each place he lived, Akimie touched the lives of individuals, families, and entire communities. His warm personality, infectious energy, and genuine care for others left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Whether through his work, friendships, or community involvement, Akimie created lasting bonds that will be deeply missed by those he encountered on hisjourney.

Professionally, Akimie was on the path to achieving his dream of becoming a certified realtor, working towards his real estate certification under the auspices of Hurd Real Estate & Co. He was a valued team member at Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar and its associated establishments, and he lent his talents to Swiftly Catered, where his dedication and work ethic shone through.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Akimie co-founded the YouTube channel "Authentic Us," where he shared his life’s adventures and perspectives, building a connection with a wider audience. His artistic flair was also evident in his photography, with some of his work featured in VIE Magazine alongside an article on artist Julia Kate Mace.

Akimie found a second home in the Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, community, where he was deeply loved and embraced. His passing has left a profound void, but his legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support for others will continue to inspire all who knew him.
