Dorothy Knisley was born on July 1, 1942 in Artesia, California. She was the youngest of five children to Charles and Eunice Warren. She was raised in southern California and graduated from Bellflower High School in 1960. She worked for 30 years as a machinist at Robertshaw Controls (later Invensys) in Long Beach, California.
She was the most amazing mother and very involved in her children's lives. She was full of life, spontaneous and fun. People were naturally drawn to her. She enjoyed watching sports with her grandchildren, listening to music, dancing and traveling to Florida to vacation with her grown kids and grandchildren once a year. She ended up moving to Florida in her last year of life to be with her daughter and enjoy the Florida sunshine.
She went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2025.
She is survived by her daughter, Desiree Knisley and sons Don Whitenack and Jeff Knisley and his wife Jodie, grandchildren Cole and Payton Dotzenrod, Katin and Kelly Whitenack and Bryson Knisley along with two great grandchildren, Iris and Andre. She will be forever loved and missed.
