Judy found wonderful fulfillment in her career, serving as a Legal Secretary for many years with Boggs and Hayes. She later dedicated her time to the deli at Winn Dixie, where she truly thrived, cherishing the camaraderie of her colleagues and the joy of working in a dynamic environment. Her warm personality and unwavering enthusiasm for her jobs resonated deeply with everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her.
A significant highlight of Judy's life was her love story with her husband, Steve Wickstrom. The two met in Panama City Beach in 2005, and their bond blossomed into a beautiful marriage on November 18, 2009. Their union saw them exchanging vows atop the iconic Stratosphere in Las Vegas, a moment of pure happiness that marked the beginning of two decades filled with cherished memories. Together, they navigated life's ups and downs, always with laughter and support, embodying a true partnership.
Known for her light-hearted spirit, Judy often shared her favorite saying, "Suck it up buttercup," a testament to her upbeat personality and resilience—reminders to all around her to embrace life with strength and positivity. Judy's zest for life extended well beyond her careers; she adored spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Judy leaves behind her beloved husband, Steve Wickstrom, her children, Nicholas (Becky) Watley, Casie Watley, Magan (Dwayne Creel) Lunceford, and David Lunceford, and her adoring grandchildren, Anna Watley, Montana Watley, Lexi Watley, Houston Watley, Cheyenne White, and Cody White. Judy is also survived by her father, James Melton, and her devoted sisters Diann Melton, Jamie Toney, Pam Lovett, and Becky Wargo, as well as her brothers, Michael Carol and Denny Carol.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Ferguson, along with her brothers, Jimmy Melton and Johnny Melton, who will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
