LaVonne Lillian Domke

October 12, 1927 — February 18, 2025

Crestview

LaVonne Lillian (Larson) Domke, 87, peacefully went to meet her Savior on February 18th, 2025, surrounded by her family in Crestview, Florida.

LaVonne was a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a cherished friend. LaVonne was born on October 12, 1937, to Ed and Mildred Larson in Mauston, WI. She spent her childhood growing up on their family farm in Wonewoc, WI with her two brothers Eugene and Larry. She loved sharing stories from her childhood, specifically the waterfall, with her family and friends. LaVonne graduated from La Crosse University in 1959 with a degree in education and taught Elementary Education in Marshfield and Random Lake Wisconsin. While at La Crosse, LaVonne met her soulmate, Bernard Domke. They were married on October 8, 1959. Their marriage was an example of Christ to anyone who met them. Together, they spent 65 beautiful years devoted to each other and were by each other’s side even until her final moments here on Earth. LaVonne was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and spent many years dedicated to growing his kingdom. LaVonne loved teaching children’s Sunday School and working as an AWANA Leader. She poured into many lives through her works in Campus Life, 5-Day Club, and traveled across multiple states as the lead speaker, sharing her testimony at the Christian Woman’s Club meetings. She was always a supporter and advocate of Missions work and The Voice of the Martyrs. LaVonne enjoyed traveling, visiting Bluegrass Festivals, and family ancestry. She loved birdwatching, flowers, and watching the sunsets from her back porch. Most importantly, LaVonne loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed creating memories with them through tea parties, singing songs, playing the piano, and reading with them. LaVonne continued sharing these loves with her great-grandchildren as well. LaVonne is survived by her husband, Bernard Domke, her daughter, Kristine (Jared) Stradtman of Crestview, FL, her grand-daughters Kaitlyn (Tyler) Thomason of Crestview, FL and Rylee (Evan) Rivenburg of Perry, GA, her great-granddaughter Theadora (Thea) Thomason and great-grandson Barrett Thomason. She is survived by her brother Larry Larson and many nieces and nephews, relatives, the church body of Grace Bible Church of Adell, and close friends. LaVonne is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Mildred Larson, brother Gene, and son Scott Domke. LaVonne brought joy to all who met her in her last years of life as she announced herself as “old and slow” to everyone she would meet.

LaVonne’s memorial service will be postponed until a later time, and her ashes will be buried in the family plot at the Elroy Cemetery in Elroy, WI.
